How to Drop an Order in Shipt Shopper

While it's great that you're trying to fulfill an order in Shipt Shopper, sometimes it's not so great that you have to miss out and need to drop the order. Even for an accidental claim, it is rather easy to drop an order in Shipt.

Method 1 of 2:
Self-Service Dropping

1
Recognize that there are some limitations to self-service dropping inside the Shipt Shopper app. Shipt offers you a grace period of three hours. For example, if your delivery window is 9-10pm, the latest you can drop that order by yourself is 6pm. Anything later, and you'll have to call into Shipt to report the mistake - as you'll see by the dialog box.
2
Claim the order - if you haven't done so already. Inside your Shipt Shopper app, find the order and claim it. Tap the Claim Order button at the bottom of the order then confirm that you'd like to claim the order in the " Are you sure you want to claim this order? Order Number: (number)" dialog box by tapping Claim Order in this dialog box.
3
Dismiss this message. Tap the Dismiss box when it asks you if you'd like to review the order details.
4
Open up your My Orders page. Tap the Hamburger menu in the top right corner, then tap My Orders from the bar that displays.
5
Swipe from right to left on the order you'd like to drop.
6
Tap the Drop Order button. The button is red and has a trash can on it. It's the only button on the swipe list.
7
Confirm the dropping of the order - if asked to give confirmation.

Method 2 of 2:
Support-Directed Dropping

1
Have the order number written down. You'll find that number in your My Orders list.
2
Contact Shipt. Use their phone system. Call 800-502-2500. Enter the Shopper Support line (by pressing 2), then select the option that tells them you'd like to drop an order (by pressing 1). Enter the order number. Wait for the Shopper Support employee. Explain what you'd like to do with the order - tell them you'd like to drop the order. They'll ask you for your order number, and within a minute or two, they'll step away and unassign you from the order.
3
Retrieve confirmation page of your un-assignment of the order. You'll see confirmation in your text messages that "The order (#) was unassigned from your schedule. Please contact Shipt HQ if you have questions. Thanks!" It may come from a different Alabama number and one that's outbound (to you) only.
